Daiichi Sankyo Partnering With ATLATL Innovation Center to Accelerate APAC Biotech Innovation

Daiichi Sankyo plans to leverage ATLATL’s expertise in the region and its innovative R&D network.

Daiichi Sankyo and ATLATL Innovation Center are joining forces to accelerate and implement innovative science in the Asia-Pacific biotechnology sector.

In their agreement, Daiichi Sankyo will leverage ATLATL’s APAC expertise, and its R&D network, to identify high-quality R&D platform technologies. The two entities aim to bring potential new treatment options to patients around the globe.

Impact in APAC

In the APAC region, ATLATL says it already operates a connected network across numerous core markets. This network helps to connect biotech startups, growth-stage companies, and scientific research efforts.

ATLATL has established research centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Singapore, and Hong Kong, among other strategic locations. The company offers R&D services across various stages: in-vitro drug screening, in-vivo disease model establishment, and efficacy evaluation.

In addition, ATLATL’s operations support biologic, small-molecule, nucleic acid, cell & gene therapy, and drug delivery applications. The company also dabbles in fields such as multi-omics, gene editing, organoids, and organ-on-a-chip.

ATLATL Platform to Assist Daiichi Sankyo

ATLATL’s one-stop global innovation platform is based on its engineered life science “Super Server” model. This integrates R&D infrastructure with technical services and investment support.

In early January 2026, Daiichi Sankyo announced it would be investing approximately $1.9 billion to build manufacturing facilities. These facilities, which primarily deal with cancer drugs, will be in Japan and China as well as the U.S. and Germany.

Leadership for Daiichi and ATLATL had not been reached for reaction preceding the April 8, 2026 release announcing their collaboration.
